Best Home Gym Equipment for Small Space (2020 Update)

A year ago, I shared with you the top-selling home gym equipment for men and women. It was largely based on three factors: cost, convenience, and durability. This year, the math has changed, and some of the products that held the top spot no longer do, because the cost of some of them has increased.

So what’s changed?

Some of the current bestsellers have their own workout machines.  The companies that make these home gym products do so because they have decided that they have a competitive advantage and they don’t want to pass up the opportunity to introduce their machine.

These are usually large companies that can afford to keep up with market trends and introduce new products, while smaller companies that have a competitive advantage don’t need to worry as much about brand new products. There are many guides to help you choose the best equipment for your home or garage gym. You can find many guides online such as this review guide into Force USA G3 model on the Fitgraded website or this guide here on Menshealth.

You also have to keep in mind that some of the top-selling home gym equipment doesn’t include a workout machine.

For example, you can buy a cheap portable hand bike for $80. If you then use it a couple of times, you can probably fix it by sanding it down. However, if you buy an exercise machine, you can use it consistently.

Cost And Convenience Make People Stick To Their Workouts

spaceIf you can’t afford an $80 portable hand bike, what can you do? You might resort to the treadmill or the elliptical. These are great, but the problem is that there are times when you don’t want to sit in front of a machine in your apartment.

If you have a small house, these are great to use because you can use them for long periods of time without interruption. If you have a large house, you’re still limited to 30 minutes or so at a time. However, if you want to get into shape, 30 minutes is more than enough.

Another advantage of working out at home is convenience. You don’t have to take time off of work or leave the house to get a good workout. There’s also no one counting your reps or watching you. It’s just you and your workout.

Longevity is important, and you should be looking for equipment that will last you a while. This is usually one of the reasons that gym equipment sells well. If you buy a good home gym, you don’t have to replace it every few years. Even if you do need to replace it, the costs are not nearly as bad as if you buy new equipment each time.

Durability Is a Must For All Exercise Equipment

If you’re going to be using exercise equipment regularly, durability is a big deal. If it breaks, you’re going to be in a lot of trouble. The more durable the equipment is, the more likely it is that you’ll keep it up. The upside is that if you get a good deal on a piece of equipment, you don’t have to replace it as often.

Having a workout space at home is critical to building a healthy lifestyle, but if you have a small space, then you might not be able to do it at all.

There are two ways to go. One is a full home gym and the other is just making the most of what you have.

You could do a full home gym, but you would be wasting a lot of space. You also would have to pack it up to move somewhere when you decide to move.

Alternatively, you can split up your home workout space with equipment that can be used in a number of different ways. The best home gym equipment for small space is a multifunctional piece of equipment that you can use in a number of ways, such as squat racks, barbells, or medicine balls.

What to Buy for a Compact Home Gym

Once you decide what pieces of equipment you need, it’s important to find the best home gym equipment for a smaller space. That being said, the best equipment for small space does not need to be expensive. It just needs to work well.

There are a number of good options at your local sporting goods store, like The Home Depot and Dick’s Sporting Goods. For example, these are some of the best pieces of home gym equipment for small space:
