Will you allow the MCC to ban all
natural therapies in South Africa?

The MCC’s effort to outlaw all natural therapies has been going on for years in South Africa (download the proposed law here). Under the influence of the pharmaceutical cartel, the first proposal for a ban on natural therapies was made by the MCC in 1996. Such proposals have been defeated several times before by South African natural health groups – and even led to a formal investigation by the Dukes Committee that led to the sacking of its complete leadership. The Committee's final report in 1998 concluded: “The present MCC should cease to exist” and urged the immediate “suspension of (its) work”.

It is time for the Dukes Committee to re-convene

The MCC has revived its unscrupulous attack on the health of South Africans by trying once again to ban natural therapies at this time – just 2 weeks after the New York Times published a study by Harvard University showing a simple and easily affordable vitamin combination can slow down the onset of AIDS by 50%. These are numbers that have and never will be reported in respect of the dangerous pharmaceutical drugs, that currently generate $4 billion in turnover per year for a handful of drug companies.

We are listing here the names and contact details of the known members of the MCC so that the public no longer has to deal with an anonymous institution. Despite repeated requests, the MCC has refused to reveal the names of all its members and industry consultants to the public.
