Reactions to Dr. Rath's Open Letter

Following are some of the reactions we received after Dr. Rath's Open Letter was published in the New York Times, on May 6, 2005.

Dear Dr Rath and your team,
So, President Mbeki was right all along - AIDS is a poverty related disease!
On behalf of the millions of Africans who have been tormented and terrorised for years with the HIV=AIDS=DEATH story, I wish to pledge support for your work in the poverty-stricken township of Khayalitsha-Cape Town.
The TAC must realise that the time for "monkey business" with people's lives is over! In fact I'm surprised that they have ran to the MRC to compel them to shut down your pilot project. We know that they have been illegally importing and disbursing ARVs long before they were registered with the MRC for treating "HIV" ANTIBODIES!!

Dear Dr. Rath,
I always thought my President and the Minister of Health were right about this disease. And the world should be grateful to have such a brave and intelligent scientist, Dr Rath.
May the world know what you are fighting for and that this fight is an unselfish fight for poorest of the poor of the world.
We also thank God for our President. He is a man of principles and intergrity and he is not a push-over as the world super-powers want him to be. I hope and pray that this research and experiment be succesful and that it could immediately result in a cure for this ungrateful, horrible disease.

The article has enligthened me of the worst ever crime happening to people in africa, I am excited to view that an NGO like is dedicated for this cause. I am forwarding this newsletter to as many people as possible. With all of our efforts we can remove this drug, my support will always be there.

Dear Dr. Rath, I am really convinced that vitamins have a positive effect in combating HIV to progress to AIDS. I am on vitamins myself and many symptoms have disappeared and I healthy as ever. I fully support Dr. Rath's campaign.
I am a witness to his assertions. I witnessed cases where HIV-positive people used multivitamins and their health improved, including their CD4 count and viral load. A disturbing factor is that people, especially the media in South Africa, are making a mockery of what our health minister is preaching, viz. eating healthy naturally.
It's a shame that people can be so naive to the point of missing such an obvious fact – ARV drugs are expensive and toxic, while healthy food and vitamins are cheap and have no side effects! In fact many people have died from the side effects of these ARV drugs only.

This is a very important issue that needs to be discussed openly and urgently. How can one get hold of these micronutrients?

Dear Sirs, I just read your open letter of May 6, 2005 to the New York Times.
Thank you for adding evidence to what I thought was probably true, that the natural remedies are superior to those of the pharmaceutical companies, when it comes to the war against AIDS.
I constantly promote Cellular Health Products in my office, only to come up against opposition by patients who have been brainwashed by the pharmaceutical industry, that they are the gold standard. Fortunately, every once in a while, some patients believe me, try the products and get great results. It is an uphill battle against the pharmaceutical cartel, but it must be fought for the benefit of the world.
