Members of the South African Parliament

Dear Members of Parliament,

Attached please find a reprint of the public health information published by our Foundation in the New York Times on 6 May 2005 and in the International Herald Tribune on 10 May 2005. This public health notice informs the people of the world that vitamins and other micronutrients are effective, safe and natural health solution readily available anywhere in the world to fight the HIV AIDS epidemic.

The information about the possible control of AIDS with natural, non-patentable means is spreading across the developing world like a bushfire. However, these very same facts threaten the existence of the multinational drug companies. This international drug cartel requires the continuation of the AIDS epidemic as marketplace for their multi-billion dollar investment business with synthetic and patented AIDS drugs, particularly ARVs .

The Scientific Fact Facts:

1. Every textbook of biology and biochemistry documents the fact that vitamins and other micronutrients are essential cofactors for optimum metabolism of millions of cells in our body -- including the cells responsible for effective immune defense.
2. In a nutrient programme composed of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and extracts from Green tea which was provided to HIV-positive AIDS patients in Khayelitsha we convincingly documented the public health benefits of natural and nutritional health approaches. None of the AIDS patients on this nutrient programme had taken any ARV drugs prior or during this programme.
3. Within the short period of only four weeks, the combination of micronutrients was able to improve all immune function markers of AIDS patients, including total white blood cells (+18%), neutrophils (+20%), lymphocytes (+34%), monocytes (+32%), total T-cells (+12%), CD4 cells (+11%), CD8 cells (+11%) (see graph in New York Times).
4. Most importantly, within the period of 4 weeks the symptoms of the immune deficiency disease AIDS had significantly reversed or had entirely disappeared. Even severely infected skin ulcers, a typical symptom of advanced AIDS almost completely healed with the nutrient programme (see picture in the New York Times).
5. The improvements and well being of the patients was also assessed by a questionnaire before and during the programme. On the nutrient programme many AIDS related symptoms improved. The patients reported less pain, less nausea, less headache, less eye burning and blurred vision, less skin bruises, less muscle cramps less sweating and other improvements of their well-being.
6. The study was continued over a period of 8 weeks during which all these benefits for the patients became oven more significant (see below).

In summary, no such findings about comprehensive improvement of immune function markers or reversal of AIDS symptoms were documented in any study with ARV drugs such as AZT or nevirapine. While these ARV drugs may increase CD4 counts for a short period of time, their toxicity generally leads to a decrease of most other immune function markers.

The results of this nutrition programme were so encouraging that we decided to publish them in some of the leading newspapers of the world without delay. Despite the limited number of patients in any pilot nutrient programme, the improvements were so remarkable that most of them reached statistical significance already after 4 weeks. On this web site you will also find live testimonials of patients having participated in this nutrient programme reporting about their well-being.

Through the publications of this breakthrough in international newspapers, including the New York Times, the daily newspaper of the UN Headquarters, this information has reached the corners of the world.

The consequences of this breakthrough for the people of South Africa and the world

From now until the end of time the discovery cannot be undone: there is an effective, safe and affordable approach available anywhere in the world for the natural control of the AIDS epidemic. This approach has been described in the textbooks of biology, biochemistry and natural science long ago and has now been proven for the first time in the fight against the immune deficiency disease AIDS.

While further studies are now ongoing around the world the following consequences are already clear:

• The AIDS epidemic is no longer a death verdict for millions of people in Africa.
• Millions of lives in South Africa, Africa and around the world can be saved.
• Billions of Rands in health care costs can be saved.
• The governments and economies of the developing nations most affected with the AIDS epidemic will no longer be held hostage by the drug cartel and its multibillion dollar business with its unaffordable and toxic AIDS drugs.

The consequences of this breakthrough for the drug cartel

While mankind can be overjoyed about the fact that it can now rid itself of the AIDS scourge, this very same fact becomes a fundamental threat to the very existence of the multi-billion dollar drug business.

For this business the consequences of the breakthrough for the natural control of AIDS are also clear:

• with the end of the AIDS epidemic the marketplace for a multibillion dollar business with synthetic, patented AIDS drugs is vanishing.
• The credibility of the pharmaceutical drug cartel will be destroyed and with it the multibillion dollar investment business based on the continuation and promotion of diseases.
• The people of South Africa and the entire world have recognized that the AIDS epidemic was deliberately promoted by the drug cartel as a market place for selling their drugs. The key tool of these financial interests to artificially prolong the AIDS epidemic was to hide the established scientific facts about the health benefits of vitamins and other micronutrients in improving the immune system and fighting immune deficiencies, including AIDS.
• Knowing that this health breakthrough had been made - against the fierce resistance of the drug cartel - these very same interests are sending their front organizations like the South Africa TAC into a last desperate battle. On behalf of the drug cartel these front organizations are attacking the scientists and the governments responsible for this a historic breakthrough.
• These front organizations of the drug cartel are assisted by certain media in South Africa and abroad whose owners and publishers are located in the homelands of the drug cartel, namely the UK and the US. These media have a direct or indirect interest in supporting the drug investment business with the AIDS epidemic - and they thereby risk millions of lives.
• Soon the people of South Africa and the people of the world will hold all those responsible who directly or indirectly contributed to the prolongation of the drug investment business with the AIDS epidemic and the millions of unnecessary deaths resulting from it. This includes not only financiers and executives of the drug cartel but also its stakeholders in the media, medicine, politics and in front organizations. The first complaint has already been filed on behalf of the people of the world at the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

Desperate drug cartel attacks on the Dr. Rath Foundation

Unable to question the scientific facts and to ban this breakthrough via legislation, the only means of action of these drug cartel front organizations is defamation of those working towards the rapid implementation of this medical breakthrough for the benefit of the people of South Africa and the world.

The primary target of these attacks are the scientific leaders of this breakthrough in natural health and the politicians ready to implement it. Health is a human right and must never be allowed to be the basis of an investment business. I encourage you, as the political leaders of South Africa, to read our 10 Point-Programme “Health Is a Human Right: Public Control of the Health Care System!” which was published in international newspapers and on our web site.

In light of these facts it is obvious, that the drug cartel has already lost its battle in the field of science, medicine, business ethics, credibility and moral values. The only thing left for them are undignified personal attacks which will have no other effect than to accelerate the demise of the unscrupulous ‘drug investment business with disease’.

Desperate drug cartel attacks on the South African government

For the very same reason the South African government has become the target of attacks by the drug cartel and its stakeholders. The public health information in the New York Times also summarizes the global attack of the multi-billion dollar interests on the people of South Africa and their government. These attacks are mainly launched from the two leading export nations of pharmaceutical drugs, the US and the UK, where two out of three pharmaceutical drugs originate that are currently sold around the world. These attacks on the right of the people of Africa to liberate themselves from dependency on the international drug cartel are covered as ‘AIDS Relief,’ ‘Marshall Plan for Africa’ and other philanthropic masks. The main purpose of these programmes, however, is to artificially stabilize the multibillion dollar fraud business of the drug cartel conducted in the developing world particularly at the expense of patients suffering from AIDS.

The South African government has been publicly attacked on its health approach to AIDS by politicians and other members of a group that considers itself as ‘the elite’ within South Africa. Similarly, attacks have been launched on the work of our Foundation by certain Members of Parliament, e.g. Mr. Kadar Asmal, who even asked me to leave the country. In retrospect, the public statement by Mr. Asmal was no surprise. Only days before Mr. Asmal’s remarkable attack, we had exposed the so-called ‘Open Society Foundation’ of billionaire and ‘investment drug lord’ George Soros as a main funder of the TAC and other front organizations of the drug cartel. Now it turns out, that the same Soros foundation had ongoing interests in the privatization of South Africa’s water supply. This is a remarkable coincidence considering the fact that Mr. Asmal was Minister of Water Affairs during the late 90s, when water in South Africa was privatized. Mr. Asmal now has to answer some serious questions – not to me – but to the people of South Africa.

Another MP, Prof. Ben Turok of Muizenberg - the headquarters of the TAC - felt compelled to make similar public statements. They are not worth further comments in the context of this letter and I refer anyone interested to my response published as an affidavit on the website of our foundation in South Africa, www.dr-rath-foundation.org.za.

Conclusion

The breakthrough towards the natural control of the AIDS epidemic is a historic step for all mankind that allows the people of the world to liberate themselves from this epidemic and save millions of lives and billions in health care costs.

The fact that this breakthrough destroys a multibillion-dollar investment business easily explains the ferocity of the battle currently being waged by the stakeholders of the drug cartel wanting to continue their business with the AIDS epidemic.

A more remarkable fact is that certain politicians in South Africa - some of them with undoubted merits during the liberation struggle against apartheid - now feel compelled to block the liberation of a similar, perhaps even bigger dimension: the liberation of human health from the international drug cartel. Apparently these politicians did not, or do not want to understand that there can be no true freedom for the people of Africa without breaking the chains of pharmaceutical colonialism.

Being politicians, they should however know that they cannot win a battle against the scientific facts. Even if eminent people like Nelson Mandela or Bishop Desmond Tutu would one day stand up to question the breakthroughs in natural health in fighting AIDS they would not be able to delay this breakthrough from being accepted and implemented worldwide.

In this global battle for the liberation of human health I am calling upon you, the political representatives in South Africa, to support your government as a world leader in the liberation of human health – in the interests of millions of people in this generation and all future generations.
